like relief bills for hurricane sandy. congresswoman lynn jenkins posted on her facebook page. i hope congress will devise a plan to directly help sandy victims that will offset -- that will be offset with spending deductions. now, congresswoman jenkins says she's against pork. but citizens against government waste named her porker of the month in april, 2009. how did she earn the title, parker of the month? look at representative jenkins earmarks in 2010 alone. she sponsored 13 earmarks that total totalled a lot of money. so how do you're mark what would be considered pork. but because you're dealing with another party and you're dealing in states that may be blue, all of the sudden, you have concerns about pork? that is part of a relief bill. >> and this is another schism in the republican party that we're seeing more and more. the way they're treating these blue state republicans. they're driving blue state republicans out of their party. and the few that are left in are hugely mad. at the same time, they're also reintroducing a repeal of obama care. reintroducing the funding plan

and i were in shock to watch what happened in sandy hook. i immediately signed an executive order, we've got a school safety task force beginning to meet next week. i'm focusing on mental health, our school resource officers in school safety. and maybe some tougher penalties for firearms violations. but i don't think you'll see a lot of gun control bills in virginia, we're going to do what works and that's keeping kids in safe -- keep them safe in school with policies that are proven. >> do you reckon you're going to oppose what the white house is going to put out? >> i've got to wait and see what they're going to do. unfortunately, there was some immediate reaction by gun control advocates, i think, unfortunately to use this tragedy and -- in sandy hook as a reason to advocate any number of things that didn't have much to do with the facts of the case. we're going to do reasonable things. i think mental health is a big part of this. we went through this six years ago with the tragedy at virginia tech. we worked together on a bipartisan basis to improve our mental health laws and made

heard about the sandy hook issue and the shootings, did not say, oh, my gosh here we go again? there have been too many of these shootings. melissa: how do you link that to videogames though? >> well, you know, the individuals, what happens is you find out that the individuals that are responsible for these shootings were exposed to these videogames and they have become so sophisticated that they almost desensitize you or they in some cases they may actually desensitize you. melissa: why would a videogame make them do it? maybe a type of person, naturally violent likes to the play the videogame. why is it the fault of the video game? what is the chicken and the egg there? >> we have to stop the exposure is. i don't know if that is the answer but i rather err on the side of caution and i think that i get the fact that parents have to step in and i get that. i mean, i'm a parent of three young children and i feel as though it is my responsibility to step in and make sure that my kids are not desense tidesed. melissa: why do you need the government? >> because not every parent do

leadership in the aftermath of hurricane sandy. no doubt about it, he stood up to his party for their actions and how they didn't do what they were supposed to do early on to get relief from congress. but now is the time for real leadership, passing the buck on to the entertainment industry, governor, is nothing but a cop-out. it's a great way to divert attention from a politically delicate situation and difficult position. >> i don't let games like call of duty in my house for ps3 and xbox. that's a decision mary pat and i have made. you cannot tell me sitting in the basement for hours playing call of duty and killing people over and over and over again does not desensitize that child to the real life effects of violence. >> i don't disagree with governor christy. parenting, it's a responsibility. parents have to parent. but there is no legislation to keep a kid from playing video games in this country. christie wants to, if he wants to be in the big leagues when it comes to politics, this is the issue. he should look to his counterpart across the river in new york as an example. >> forget t
